Mais informação favorável ao Partido Republicano e aos interesses mais conservadores: a maioria dos americanos não quer "filibustering" por parte da minoria e quer que a Constituição seja interpretada "tal como escrita" (expressão-código que significa uma interpretação "originalista" a la Scalia, ou seja, em oposição ao "broad constructionism" que permitiu a expansão das liberdades cívicas). Sei que estou a simplificar mas, para um eleitor normal, é isto que "exactly as it was written" significa hoje em dia.
